KingYue

King Yue has exhibited in Los Angeles, New York, and Hong Kong, and has work in the permanent collection of the Getty Research Institute, Los Angeles. His commercial work as a production artist includes credits on films such as Total Recall (1990), Se7en (1995), and Con Air (1997).

Drawing on his experience in pre-production and the lasting influence of early mentors such as Mike Kelley, King Yue’s AI works embrace a we’ll fix it in post aesthetic, deliberately leaning away from the polished, cinematic potential of the medium. He often selects images from his personal archives for their sentimental value, exploring how far generative processes can transform these images while retaining the original mood’s essence and authenticity. His approach to AI is varied and experimental, surveying its many possibilities and allowing resonances between the pieces to emerge over time.

He has lived in Hong Kong for over a decade and uses the I Ching as an integral part of his daily studio practice.
